Novak Djokovic Contracts COVID-19

The highest-rated tennis player worldwide announced earlier in May that he’d contracted COVID-19. This contraction of the virus that’s infected more than ten million worldwide comes after Novak Djokovic refused to abide by recommendations of international health experts. Most analysts in the international tennis community weren’t surprised with the reactions shown by Novak Djokovic, with the #1 ATP Athlete being active support of Anti-Vaccinations.

The professional tennis champion clarified that he’d not get a vaccine for coronavirus, citing concerns for government involvement & possible repercussions down the road. His foolishness has often been disregarded by the community. That disregard won’t be avoided after COVID-19. Novak Djokovic is the direct reason why dozens have contracted the novel coronavirus & possibly jumpstarted another outbreak of coronavirus in Croatia.

Multiple competitors competed in the “Adria Tour Exhibition Tournament”, which was hosted in the Balkan Region of Croatia. Those ATP Competitors included Grigor Dimitrov, Borna Coric, and Viktor Troicki. It’s expected that multiple other professionals that played in this tournament also contracted COVID-19 but aren’t officially releasing the information.
Amid the controversial stances that Novak Djokovic has, the ATP #1 Athlete still provided a formal statement regarding the Adria Tour Exhibition Tournament controversy. He remarked that immediately upon returning home to Belgrade, both Novak & Jelena Djokovic were tested. After being confirmed with the virus, their children were also tested & announced with a negative status.

The apologies remarked by Novak were minimal, with the champion mentioning his hope towards everyone’s health situation. It’d be remarkable if nobody that contracted the virus didn’t die from immediate or longstanding effects. When questioned on the possibility of being responsible for the deaths of Croatian Citizens or his fellow competitors, Novak showed minimal remorse. These actions will ultimately see Novak lose the respect of his ATP Coworkers.

Stop Now

It should be mentioned that the remaining events slated for the Adria Tour Exhibition Tournament have been cancelled. This decision was made by Novak Djokovic, who believed that by locating the competition to new countries, the virus could be avoided. It was the Association of Tennis Professionals who demanded Novak terminate these venues. Dealings between these two parties weren’t made public, but it’s suspected that severe punishment was threatened to Novak upon possible refusal.
